Desalination System

Desalination is the process of removing salts and dissolved solids from seawater or brackish water to achieve water characteristics suitable for potable use. This is achieved using Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology.

With our partners, we can design large scale fully automated desalination systems with relevant pre-treatment required based on a range of feedwaters available worldwide. Typical pretreatment technologies offered include Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF), Multi Media Filtration (MMF) and Ultrafiltration (UF).

Due to the fact that seawater requires very high energy levels the BW Water design includes an energy recovery device to reclaim energy contained in the high pressure brine reject stream. This reclaimed energy helps to reduce energy consumption for each m3 of potable water produced.
